Campus life
Facilities, hostels, the library, transport, sport and student societies.
Facilities
The campus holds a Learning Resource Centre, a dedicated IT laboratory, skills and science laboratories, multi-purpose teaching laboratories for histology, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology and community medicine, museums of anatomy, pathology and forensic medicine, a dissection hall, a conference room and an auditorium. Separate common rooms are provided for male and female students, and there is a day-care room.
Hostels
Separate hostel accommodation is provided for female and for male students. Each hostel is self-administered with its own support staff, has indoor games facilities, and has transport provided to the campus. Rooms are allocated by the hostel office. Catering, common rooms and supervision are provided on site.
The library
The Learning Resource Centre serves the whole campus, with a reading hall for private and group study. It holds textbooks, reference works and journals for the programmes taught, and its computers give access to the digital library. A full-time librarian is on the staff and the centre is open through college hours. Wi-Fi covers the campus and is available to every student and member of faculty.
Transport and utilities
A metalled access road serves the campus from the M2 Motorway at Faizpur Interchange. The complex provides transport for students, owned or hired, and discounted rates for faculty and other staff. There is dedicated parking for students and for faculty, and a bank branch on the site. Drinking water is tested quarterly, and an alternate power supply covers the campus when the mains fail.
Sport, societies and student support
The campus has playing fields, lawns and open ground, and students run societies that organise sport, health camps and other activities. A counselling cell staffed by a clinical psychologist is available for psychological, academic and career needs, senior faculty mentor students, and health services are provided on the campus. Students give feedback on the educational programmes and sit on the educational committees of the college.
